A low-cost phenological station as a support tool for viticulture

A new prototype of phenological station is presented. It based on the Raspberry Pi zero W single board computer for collecting and sending images via WiFi, Arduino MKR WAN 1300 microcontroller to measure both air temperature relative humidity, leaf wetness, data through LoRaWAN protocol (Long Range Wide Area Network). The components are soldered a customized printed circuit (PCB), called Raspberrino. device also consists realtime clock power management (Witty 3 Mini) schedule ON/OFF sequences with simple script, finally, as an option, photovoltaic panel, battery voltage regulator provide autonomous supply. Some parts have been obtained by 3D printing. has installed in experimental vineyard met expectations it will be used creation network, that images, useful proper vineyard’s implementation phenology models. New technologies make possible create innovative tools short time at low cost match increased need precise crop management.
